Gloucester, VA – In an extraordinary stroke of luck that has spanned decades, a Virginia woman has once again struck gold with the Virginia Lottery, this time winning an incredible $100,000 a year for the next 10 years from a scratch-off ticket.
Oletha Etheridge, a long-time Gloucester resident, told Virginia Lottery officials she purchased the winning ticket, a “$100,000 a Year” scratch-of while stopping at the Food Lion store on Hargett Boulevard. The moment she realized she had hit the top prize, she called her daughter immediately.
“Are you sitting down? ‘Cause I have something to tell you,'” Etheridge recalled saying.

This life-changing windfall isn’t her first taste of lottery success. Back in her 20s, Etheridge walked into the lottery headquarters to claim a $25,000 prize. Now in her 60s, she’s once again proving that lightning can indeed strike twice.
The lucky winner revealed that she plans to use part of her winnings to purchase a brand-new Corvette, a dream car she has long desired. She also intends to add new rooms to her home, a move that not only increases her property’s value but also enhances her comfort.
Etheridge isn’t keeping all the fortune to herself. She is sharing the prize money with her daughters, Taletha and Takema. Both plan to use their share to purchase homes turning this jackpot into a family-wide real estate investment.
