Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, affectionately known as Chef Faila, embarked on a monumental journey to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, attempting to cook her way into history.
Unfortunately, her quest concluded today, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, after an astounding 227 hours and 2 seconds of continuous cooking, spanning from January 1 to January 10, 2024.
As the first Ghanaian to undertake such a feat, Chef Faila has become a source of immense pride for the nation.

Her bid concluded with a poignant moment as she played the National Anthem of Ghana, “God Bless Our Home Land,” resonating with the sentiments of unity and national identity.
Videos capturing the closing moments of Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale have taken social media by storm.
In one of the clips, Chef Faila is seen saluting the supportive personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces while the national anthem played in the background.
Post-anthem, Chef Faila was warmly embraced by her husband, Lieutenant Reginald Ofosuhene Adjei, a member of the 69 Airborne Force of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Chef Faila stepped out of her kitchen to share heartfelt moments with soldiers and supporters, tears of joy streaming down her face.
The emotional scene did not stop with Chef Faila; onlookers, many of whom had supported her from day one, were visibly moved, shedding tears of pride and joy while others joined in song and dance.
The street leading to the hotel was flooded with thousands of people who came together to celebrate Chef Faila’s remarkable culinary achievement.
