Zayn Malik paid a heartfelt tribute to his late former bandmate, Liam Payne, during a performance in Payne’s hometown of Wolverhampton, England, on Nov. 29.
Malik, 31, dedicated his song “It’s You” to Payne, who tragically passed away on October 16 at the age of 31.
In a touching moment captured by fans on social media, Malik addressed the crowd, saying, “So I’ve been doing something at the end of the show every night and it is being dedicated to my brother Liam Payne.”

The crowd erupted in applause as Malik added, “Rest in peace. I hope you see this. We’re in your hometown tonight, Wolverhampton. This is for you Liam.”
Payne’s sudden death came after he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and shook fans and the music world alike.
Malik’s dedication to Payne was especially poignant as it marked the first time he publicly honored his late friend since the tragedy.

This emotional moment followed a similar tribute Malik gave during the first show of his Stairway to the Sky Tour in Leeds, England, on Nov. 23. There, a message reading “Liam Payne 1993-2024, Love you bro” was displayed on a large screen as Malik’s song “Stardust” played.
Malik had also attended Payne’s funeral on Nov. 20, where he was seen with other One Direction members, including Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
Following Payne’s death, Malik made the decision to postpone his U.S. tour dates, citing the emotional impact of the loss.
He announced that his tour would resume in January 2025, with a performance in Washington, D.C. scheduled for Jan. 21.
