Tragedy has struck the town of Brighouse, West Yorkshire, as the body of 14-year-old Logan Slater was discovered after he went missing on his way to school. Logan vanished on Monday morning, and his body was found two days later in land off Beechwood Park.

Logan left his home around 7:45 a.m. on October 21, but never arrived at Brighouse High School.

His family, friends, and the local community rallied together, sharing posts and distributing flyers in hopes of finding him safe.

Sadly, the news of his passing broke on Wednesday, leaving everyone heartbroken.

In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Logan’s mother, Amanda Slater, expressed her devastation: “We have lost our little boy Logan… He is a HUGE part of our family and deeply loved by many.

He will live forever in our hearts and thoughts.”

Tributes have poured in for Logan, with friends describing him as a vibrant and cherished young man.

One friend wrote, “R.I.P Logan Slater forever 14. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel.” Logan was known for his enthusiasm for rugby and his kindness, making a lasting impression on both his peers and teachers.

Richard Horsfield, headteacher at Brighouse High, expressed sorrow over the loss, stating, “We are deeply saddened that the time came to such an abrupt end.”

The school will provide specialist support to students grappling with the news.

In honor of Logan, the community plans to hold a balloon release and fireworks display at a local park on Monday evening.

West Yorkshire Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Logan’s death, and a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to the previous missing person reports.
