Ayariga states that Mahama’s return is prompted by Akufo-Addo’s perceived failure

Hassan Ayariga, the founder of the All People’s Congress, stated that former President John Dramani Mahama’s attempt at a comeback has been made possible by President Nana Akufo-Addo’s shortcomings while in office.

In an interview with Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang on Friday, April 26, 2024, on the Class Morning Show, he said that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had betrayed the optimism Ghanaians had in him prior to his being awarded the mandate.

“Ghanaians didn’t believe us when we said he wouldn’t be the best candidate, so they gave President Nana Akufo-Addo the mandate,” he stated. “People gave him so much hope.”

After eight years, where is the nation now? Does President Akufo-Addo’s performance surpass that of the outgoing president? Ayariga continued, “Even though I don’t favour the past president, the answer is still no.

According to Hassan Ayariga, Mahama feels compelled to run in the general elections of 2024 since Akufo-Addo has performed appallingly in leading the nation.

Ayariga stated that Akufo-Addo’s government cannot equal John Dramani Mahama’s record in terms of inflation, the value of the Cedi, and other economic metrics.
