The well-known actress Yvonne Nelson is pleading with Ghanaians to help her plan another “Dumsor Must Stop” Vigil.
Over three months have passed since Ghana’s ongoing power disruptions resumed. The small outages at first gave customers hope that electricity would be restored in less than five minutes, but it later came out that this was just a test to assess what the ECG’s “timetable” for power failures would entail.
Yvonne Nelson and other well-known Ghanaians demonstrated against the John Dramani Mahama-led administration in the streets of Accra in 2015.

The purpose of the demonstration was to draw attention to the necessity of maintaining power after four years of unreliable supply.
Yvonne Nelson confirmed in a statement that she is worried that people who voted for her in 2015 would now harbour a soft spot for the current administration and be reluctant to lend support.
She is thus urging all Ghanaians who possess the know-how to plan a vigil of this kind to unite and make sure that the government gives the people’s needs first priority.
