Seven ECG substations in Accra flooded due to heavy rainfall

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, an awful lot of rain caused seven substations run by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to flood in various parts of the Greater Accra Region.

These substations need to go through a lot of drying processes before they can safely operate and supply power to the affected areas, according to a trustworthy source within ECG.

According to the source, there could be a risk to the distribution of power in certain areas of the Greater Accra Region as a result of the flooding.

ECG responded to the problem by sending out teams to deal with it overnight in order to resolve it as soon as possible and prevent further delays to the power supply.
