A kindergarten teacher’s lighthearted response to finding a condom in one of her student’s pockets has captured the internet’s attention.
The amusing exchange took place between the teacher and the boy’s mother, Crystal Starnes, who shared it on TikTok, quickly going viral.
In the text message, the teacher reassured Starnes, “Let me first say Hudson is NOT in trouble over this lol!”
She explained that Hudson had approached her before recess, pulling the condom from his pocket and asking what it was. “I just did not tell him what it was,” she wrote.

“I will dispose of it and let you know we discussed this!” Accompanying her message was a photo of the condom on her desk, a sight that left Starnes both amused and bewildered.
Starnes responded by expressing her confusion about how her five-year-old son could have come to possess such an item. When she asked Hudson about it, he simply said he found it in his pants pockets.

The teacher humorously probed further, asking if he had found it anywhere else, like on the ground or in a store, but Hudson insisted it was just in his pockets.
Later, Starnes explained that they had recently purchased new jeans for Hudson at Walmart, suggesting that someone might have playfully placed the condom in the pocket before the purchase.

“That is not mine or my husband’s,” she texted, adding a laughing emoji. The teacher reassured her that the situation had been handled and encouraged her not to feel embarrassed.
In her TikTok post, Starnes wrote, “Guys, I cannot make this stuff up!” The incident resonated with many viewers, sparking a wave of relatable comments from parents and teachers recounting similar experiences.
Speaking to People, Starnes confirmed that she and her husband had no use for condoms at home.
“It was very shocking,” she said, speculating that the item was likely a prank.
