Man Kills Ex-Fiancée After She Gives Engagement Ring Back, Then Makes Her Daughter Call 911

Timothy Hyder, 57, was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly killing his ex-fiancée, 58-year-old Natalie “Dawn” Du’Mee, in St. Cloud, Florida.

According to police, Hyder and Du’Mee had been at a football watch party when they began arguing. During the argument, Du’Mee told Hyder that she no longer wanted to marry him and returned the engagement ring.

The argument continued when they returned home, and Hyder reportedly went to grab his .357 revolver.

He went outside to the back porch where Du’Mee was sitting and allegedly asked if she was sure about calling off the wedding.

After Du’Mee confirmed, Hyder shot her in the head, killing her instantly.

Du’Mee’s daughter, who was in the house at the time, heard the gunshot and found her mother bleeding. Hyder allegedly told her, “It’s over, I blew her brains out,” and instructed her to call 911.

When officers arrived, they found Du’Mee on the porch with a gunshot wound to her head and a handgun in plain sight on the kitchen counter.

Hyder admitted to the shooting, stating that he “snapped” and wished he could take back what happened. He has been charged with first-degree murder. Authorities are still investigating the case.
