A tragic incident unfolded in Belfast, Maine, where Samuel Whittemore, 34, is accused of killing his wife, Margaux Whittemore, 32, and injuring his mother during a visit to his parents’ home in Readfield, Maine.
According to a statement from the Maine State Police, the violence occurred on February 19, 2025, and police were called to the scene at 10:02 a.m.
Margaux, a yoga instructor who shared her vibrant life and travels with her followers on Instagram, was found dead outside the residence.
Samuel’s mother, Dorothy Whittemore, 67, was discovered inside the house with injuries. She was initially in critical condition but has since been reported as stable.

Samuel, a former SpaceX engineer according to his LinkedIn page, allegedly fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by a trooper.
He was taken to Maine General Hospital for evaluation and later transferred to Kennebec County Jail, where he faces a charge of murder.
Authorities have not released details about the cause of Margaux’s death, nor have they disclosed a motive for the crime. Samuel Whittemore is scheduled to appear in court on February 21.
