US President Donald Trump has stirred speculation about his political future, hinting that he might pursue a third term in the White House, even though the US Constitution prohibits it under the 22nd Amendment.
In an interview on Sunday morning with NBC News, Trump addressed the possibility of serving a third term, saying, “I’m not joking,” adding that he was aware that many of his supporters wanted him to consider it.
“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump remarked, though he acknowledged that it was still “very early” in his administration and that he was focused on the present moment.
Trump was clear in stating that he enjoys his work and, when asked if he wanted another term, he simply replied, “I like working.”
However, when pressed further about his potential interest in a third term, he reiterated that it was too soon to think about it.
Despite the constitutional limits on serving more than two terms, Trump seemed to suggest that there might be ways to bypass the restriction.

When asked about plans for a third term, he responded, “There are methods which you could do it,” and pointed to a potential scenario in which Vice President JD Vance could run for office and then hand the presidency over to Trump. When asked to elaborate on other methods, Trump simply said, “no.”
Constitutional experts point out that amending the Constitution to eliminate the two-term limit would be an extremely complex and challenging process, requiring significant political support and ratification by a supermajority of states.
Trump, who has previously teased the idea of a third term, has often made these comments in a tongue-in-cheek manner, with many of his supporters interpreting them as playful remarks or political trolling aimed at his critics.
However, his recent comments have sparked renewed interest and debate about his potential future in politics, especially given his ongoing popularity among certain segments of the electorate.
