Michigan Lottery player wins his second Fantasy 5 jackpot in two years

A Michigan resident is celebrating yet another extraordinary stroke of lottery luck after winning a $110,000 jackpot on the Fantasy 5 Double Play, his second huge win in less than a year.

Kelly Ralston, 61, of Mount Pleasant, has again defied the odds. He bought the winning ticket for the May 10 drawing at the Oil City EZ Mart on South Coleman Road in Mount Pleasant. The winning numbers were 2, 3, 7, 22, and 28.

Ralston won $115,000 in Fantasy 5 last year. With this latest $110,000 win, his total winnings have reached an astonishing $225,000 in just over a year.

Ralston shared his excitement with Michigan Lottery officials, revealing that he’s remained a regular Fantasy 5 player ever since his first win. Yet, he admitted that scoring big for a second time came as a complete shock.

“I’ve continued to play Fantasy 5 since I won last year, but I never thought I would win big a second time,” he said. “The morning after the drawing, I scanned my Fantasy 5 ticket on the Lottery app and was stunned when $110,000 came up on the screen. I still can’t believe I won again!”

Despite the surprising outcome, Ralston said he has no intentions of stepping away from the game. His latest win has only fueled his enthusiasm to keep playing, with hopes of landing a third big jackpot.

“I plan to keep playing and hopefully be back claiming a big prize for the third time,” he said confidently.

Ralston described how he prudently spent his first wins by purchasing a camper, supporting his family, and making home renovations. Now that he has received a second large settlement, he is looking forward to something even bigger: retirement.

“The first time I won, I used the money to buy a camper, help my family, and do things around my house,” he said. “Now I plan to retire and live comfortably.”

His story is about perseverance and enthusiasm, as well as luck. Ralston’s persistent participation in the game, as well as his optimism in his chances of winning, serve as a reminder that fortune can smile twice, if not more, on the same person.

Michigan Lottery officials continue to advise people to play wisely, as Ralston has done, proving that lightning can strike the same area twice.
