Wisconsin Teen Pleads No Contest in Brutal Attempted Homicide Case

A Wisconsin young man has pleaded no contest to attempting to kill a teenage girl he met online. Dylan Michael Lenz, now 19 years old, admitted to a horrific series of actions against a girl he connected with through Snapchat in 2022.

The attack occurred on October 15, 2022, when Lenz was just 17. According to investigators, he had arranged to meet the 17-year-old girl and took her to a Walmart store in Beaver Dam. What followed was a calculated and violent assault.

During questioning, Lenz made disturbing statements about his mindset during the attack. “While in the store, I was like, ‘This is the last day she was going to be alive,’” he allegedly told a detective. He admitted to stabbing the girl with a box cutter, letting her out of the vehicle, and then running her over multiple times.

According to court records, the girl miraculously survived the incident, though she sustained severe injuries. Police officers responding to the scene found her breathing heavily and groaning in pain.

Following the violent encounter, Lenz was taken into custody later that same night. His chilling confession and the brutal nature of the assault shocked even seasoned investigators.

On Monday, Lenz entered a no contest plea to attempted first-degree intentional homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon. Though he did not admit guilt outright, the plea acknowledges that prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him at trial.

Several other charges, including aggravated battery, hit-and-run causing great bodily harm, first-degree reckless injury, and misdemeanor battery, were dismissed as part of the plea deal. However, these charges were read into the court record and may still influence the sentencing decision.

Lenz is currently being held in Dodge County Jail, awaiting his sentencing hearing scheduled for September 12. The court will determine the appropriate punishment for what is being described as a deliberate and violent attack.

When asked about his motives, Lenz allegedly told investigators he was dealing with “really bad thoughts.” The disturbing details of the case have left many in the community searching for answers and justice.
