President Donald Trump Threatens Iran Strikes if Strait of Hormuz Stays Closed Tuesday

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Iran, saying American forces could strike key infrastructure within days if a major global shipping route remains closed.

In a strongly worded post shared Sunday on Truth Social, Trump said the United States would target power plants and bridges in Iran as early as Tuesday if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened. The narrow waterway is one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes, and its disruption has raised alarms across global energy markets.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” Trump wrote, signaling a possible escalation in tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz has remained effectively blocked since military actions involving the U.S. and Israel began targeting Iranian positions more than a month ago. The closure has disrupted international shipping and intensified fears of a wider regional conflict.

Trump’s message quickly drew attention for its tone and urgency. “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!,” Trump said, ending his Easter morning post with: “Praise be to Allah.”

The comments come at a time of rising geopolitical tension, with global oil prices and supply chains closely tied to developments in the region. Analysts warn that any attack on infrastructure could further destabilize energy markets and increase risks for international trade.

Separately, Trump confirmed he will address the situation publicly during a scheduled Oval Office news conference on Monday. The briefing follows a recent military operation in which U.S. forces rescued two American pilots whose aircraft had been downed inside Iran.

Officials have not released full details about the rescue, but the incident adds another layer of urgency to an already volatile standoff between Washington and Tehran.

As the Tuesday deadline approaches, the world is watching closely. The fate of a single waterway could shape the next phase of a growing international crisis.
