Kelechi Iheanacho Joins the Nigerian Squad Ahead of AFCON

The famous Nigerian football talent; Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City club in England as joined the super eagles squad ahead of the anticipated Africa Cup of Nations.

His arrival has made the squad number to increase from 22 to 23 and more players are also expected to join within the week. These anticipated players are Odion Jude Ighalo who is currently playing for Al-Shabab Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. Jamilu Collins is currently playing for SC Padeborn 07 in Germany.

Joseph Ayodele-Aribo who is currently playing for Glasgow Rangers in Scotland.
Tyrone Ebuehi who is currently playing for
Venezia FC in Italy. And Samuel Chukwueze who is currently playing for Villarreal FC of Spain.

Meanwhile, many Super Eagles players are already in Camp and they listed below;

The above-mentioned squad members are currently in camp and training ahead of AFCON 2022. The African football tournament will kick-off on Sunday, January 9 and a total of 16 nations are to compete for the crown.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were drawn to Group D; which also compromises of Guinea-Bissau, Sudan, and Egypt. Moreover, the African Giant recently sacked their German manager Gernot Rohr after a series of meetings and consultations.

Jose Peseiro was appointed as the new manager and his first task is to lead Nigeria to the AFCON trophy which they won last in 2013.
