An Immigration Officer has been shot dead in Bawku, a town in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
The officer, identified as Philip Motey, was reportedly killed while on duty alongside two other officers who are currently in critical condition at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital.
This shocking incident has left the entire nation in a state of mourning, as it once again highlights the growing insecurity in some parts of the country.
The Ghana Immigration Service, in a statement, expressed its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased officer and pledged to ensure that those responsible for the heinous act are brought to book.
The statement also urged officers to remain vigilant in the discharge of their duties and to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
