Lawyer Afenyo Markin has joins Freemasonry Grand Lodge in Ghana?

Ghanaian lawyer and politician, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin join Freemason Grand Lodge in Ghana.

A photo of the Effuttu member of parliament hit the internet on Sunday, May 29th, and has since gone viral and caused a lot of stirs with mixed reactions among social media users.

The Freemason movement as most of us are aware sees it as an occultic organization that engages in the shedding of blood and the offering of human sacrifices. This assertion is made to those who are not initiated.

Also, Freemasonry is one of the oldest fraternal organizations in the world. It unites men of good character who, though of different religious, ethnic or social backgrounds, share a belief in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of mankind. Freemasonry offers a system or blueprint for the good man to further improve his character and actions through its system of degrees, symbols, and fellowship opportunities.

Afenyo Markin Joins Freemason

In a photo shared online and sighted by Townflex, the MP, Afenyo-Markin was seen dressed in the costume ready for fellowship.

This has garnered a lot of mixed reactions among social media users sharing their views.

It would be recalled some years back in 2016 the Effuttu member of parliament confirmed it himself in an interview with Bola Ray that he has joined Free Mason that was around the time he debunked rumours has he has been excommunicated by his catholic church after joining the masonry.

“I am a mason and I have not been sanctioned by the Catholic Church. Freemasonry is a fraternal society that believes in God Almighty and follows certain principles that guide a man’s life and it does not run counter with my beliefs as a Catholic. President Kufuor is a mason and a catholic,” he told Bola Ray.

Well, for your information Afenyo Markins is not the only person from Ghana to join the Freemasonry there are many Ghanaians especially wealthy men, and most politicians who are onboard.

Prominent Ghaniana personalities like Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and former President John Agyekum Kufuor being members.

His Excellency John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor, PGSwdB, former President of the Republic of Ghana, was appointed as the Senior Grand Warden by the Grand Master, His Royal Highness, The Duke of Kent. back in 2017.

The history of Freemasonry in Ghana can be traced to the early nineteenth century when the first Masonic lodge was consecrated in the country. The practice of Freemasonry was imported to the then Gold Coast and other Commonwealth realms by European residents in the nation during the British colonial era.

Most of the lodges in Ghana are governed by the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) and Wales, Grand Lodge of Scotland and the Grand Lodge of Ireland.
