Renowned Ghanaian High Life vocalist, Amakye Dede, recently disclosed that the decision to bestow the esteemed title of ‘The King Of Highlife‘ upon Kuami Eugene was not a voluntary one on his part, rather, he was forced into bestowing the honor.

After four years of silence shrouding the truth, the veteran musician finally emerged from the shadows to publicly unveil the secret behind of what had transpired.

According to Amakye Dede who was in an interview on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Asaase Radio dated Wednesday morning (June 14), said he was forced, he did that under compulsion from the event’s organizers.

According to him, although he carried out the task, it was not somthing he was okay with as it was not of his own will, he was left with no choice than to do what was asked of him by the Organizers, VGMA.

“Though I did that, it was not my will to do so. They forced me to crown Kuami Eugene. I even gave the crown they handed over to me to someone to put it down, but they later said, no I have to crown him, and I did it,” he revealed. he candidly admitted.
