Brazilian woman detained for attempting to secure a loan at the bank using her dead uncle

Brazilian Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes was taken into custody after attempting to obtain a loan in her deceased uncle’s name by wheeling him into a Rio de Janeiro bank.

The unsettling sequence, which was captured on camera, depicts Erika attempting to sign documents with her deceased uncle’s limp hand while conversing with him as though he were still alive.

Employees at the bank became suspicious despite her attempts and informed the authorities.

Paulo Roberto Braga, the victim, had been dead several hours before the occurrence.

Erika may be charged with theft by deception, embezzlement, and mistreatment of a corpse while the authorities look into the circumstances of his passing and any possible family members’ involvement.
