Brothers Arrested After Beating Sibling to Death and Burying Him in Anambra

In a tragic case that has shocked Anambra State, two brothers have been arrested for allegedly beating their sibling to death and burying him in a shallow grave.

The incident unfolded in the Oko community, located in the Orumba North Local Government Area.

According to the Anambra State Police Command, the deceased, 29-year-old Chibuzor Okeke, was accused of burglary and theft.

His brother, Chidiebere Okeke, and cousin, Emebo Ogochukwu, reportedly caught him in the act.

What followed was a brutal confrontation. Chidiebere and Emebo allegedly beat Chibuzor so severely that he lost consciousness.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, medical staff confirmed that Chibuzor had died from his injuries.

In a chilling attempt to cover up their actions, the two suspects reportedly dug a shallow grave in their compound in Oko and buried their brother’s body.

The Anambra State Police Commissioner, CP Nnaghe Itam, confirmed the arrests of the two suspects.

Speaking at a press briefing on January 6, Itam stated that the police were continuing their investigation, and once completed, the suspects would be charged with murder.

The case has raised serious concerns about family violence and the dangers of taking matters into one’s own hands.
