Casemiro received a straight red card in the first half of Manchester United’s Premier League fixture with Southampton at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Referee Anthony Taylor checked the monitor and decided to send the former Real Madrid man off for a tackle that caught Carlos Alcaraz.

The midfielder went over to Alcaraz to apologise for his studs-up tackle and left the field of play as United came to grips with going down to 10 men.

The Brazilian midfielder will now be suspended for the next four games as he has already been sent off for a straight red card this season.

He will miss the following fixtures for United:

  • Newcastle United (A)
  • Brentford (H)
  • Everton (H)
  • Nottingham Forest (A)
