Featuring powerful lyrics and a mesmerising melody, “Signs” opens with the poignant lines, “I can see the signs, game is sold, never told when it’s live. No returns, no receipts when you buy” which basically means; you never know what happens behind the scenes, you only see the end product and once you have bought into that product, you can’t return from it. The song takes listeners on a journey through the artist’s observations of a world filled with blurred lines and obscured truths.
The chorus resonates with a haunting repetition of the phrase “I can see the signs,” emphasising the artist’s keen perception of the decline of authenticity in today’s society.
