The GHC 20,000 bail amount has been given to Shalimar Abbiusi, a Belgian national who was the New Force spokesperson and was arrested.

On Monday, December 11, 2023, when her case was finally brought before the court, this happened.

Parents of Shalimar Abbiusi, who were seen sobbing after her incarceration in a previous video, have also traveled from Belgium to Ghana to be with her during her hardships.

They were seen entering the courtroom for her first hearing since her arrest last week in a video that was posted earlier today.

As disclosed in a New Force statement from last week, Shalimar Abbiusi spent more than four days in detention without access to a lawyer after being taken into custody on fictitious charges resulting from her political activism.

She was detained, according to the state, because she allegedly falsified certain documents to obtain residency permits in Ghana.

The judge heard all sides in today’s court and gave her GHC 20,000 in bail.

In addition, her attorney, Francis Xavier Sosu, disclosed that the state is still hesitant to free Shalimar Abbiusi even though she was given bail and declared that they would not permit injustice to be compromised.
