Dababy, an American rapper and musician, has won a $6 million lawsuit filed against him after being accused of battery, breach of contract, and defamation.
The rapper, who was born with his legal name (Jonathan Kirk), and his team were accused of beating and robbing Kenneth Carey, a concert organizer, and a friend of Carey.
According to the promoter, he and his companion lost money and a cell phone after a brawl that onlookers allegedly recorded.

In addition, he reportedly backed out of an agreement to host an event almost three years ago, which reports claimed was the reason for the fight.
DaBaby was arrested and questioned by Miami police in January 2020 following his altercation with Carey. He was arrested because he had an outstanding warrant in Texas and was released the next day.
Although the violence allegation was eventually dropped, Carey filed a lawsuit the following month, alleging that the “Suge” rapper and his friends had attacked and robbed him, as well as failed to show up for an event he paid him $20,000 to host.
According to TMZ, a jury found in favor of DaBaby on Monday (December 19) after a five-day trial. In a countersuit filed by the rapper, Carey and fellow plaintiff Steve Anyadike were found responsible for invasion of privacy and unauthorized use of name or likeness.
“Along with our client, Jonathan Kirk (DaBaby), we are thrilled that this federal jury, after a five-day trial, came to the same conclusion that we have maintained for almost three years — that these plaintiffs were attempting to use the legal system to shake down Mr. Kirk,” the rapper’s attorney, Drew Findling, said.
“Mr. Kirk deserves all the credit in the world for not caving in to these plaintiffs’ cash demands and having the confidence in the facts and his legal team to take this to a jury trial for a complete and total victory!”
Findling also posted a photo on Instagram of himself, DaBaby, and the rest of his legal team smiling and making hand signals for the camera outside the courthouse.
“WINNING. Clean sweep in a federal jury trial victory for @dababy in Miami in an attempted celebrity cash grab against Mr. Kirk! Case closed,” the lawyer wrote in his caption.
