David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, and Brownhill Event, the event organisers, have come to an amicable settlement to end their breach of contract dispute out of court.
The conflict started when Davido failed to show up for the yearly Warri Again event despite having been paid and signing the required contracts, according to Brownhill Event, which was run by former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick.
As part of the consent ruling, Davido will reimburse Brownhill Event CEO N30,000,000 (about $21,262), as reported by Guardian Nigeria. This payment will help cover the claimant’s legal costs.

Davido will play at the 2024 Warri Again event on October 4, in Warri, Delta State, as per the conditions of the settlement.
Davido will receive consideration for his forthcoming appearance at the event in the amount of $94,500 that was previously paid to him for the last concert.
As per the settlement agreement, Brownhill Event will also cover Davido’s lodging, a private jet, and other show-related expenses.
Despite being paid, Davido did not show up for the Warri Again concerts in 2014 or 2019. This led to a legal conflict.
As a result, Brownhill Event started suing the musician in November 2023 for slander and breach of contract after trying to get reimbursed.
According to an inquiry, Davido’s firm signed a performance contract for the 2023 edition, but owing to scheduling issues, they were unable to fulfil it.
Davido has agreed to a settlement that compels him to confirm his participation in the upcoming Warri Again performance and publicly publicise the resolution on his social media.
All things considered, the deal is a big step towards clearing up the outstanding contracts between Davido and Brownhill Event and clearing the path for a fruitful working relationship for the next performance.
