Davido Quitting Music After His Next Album?

Nigerian music sensation and head of Davido Music World (DMW), Davido, has made waves with his recent announcement, hinting at quitting music.

The “Unavailable” hit singer, who has recently been in the news following his back-and-forth social media feud with colleague singer Wizkid caused a lot of traffic on the Internet sphere by hinting he is about to quit doing music.

Born with his legal name, David Adeleke, Davido, also known as OBO, took to social media on Friday, May 10 2024, to announce that will be quitting music after his next studio album.

He claimed that some people desperately wanted him out of the music industry and would quit to ensure their peace.

“Yall niggas want me out the game that bad? Oya after next album I no do again. So una fit get peace,” Davido wrote on his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle.

Following his tweet, fans of the multi-award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats singer expressed their disappointment on his decision to quit music while others also wished him well.

Although Davido quitting music after his next album, which is what we know for now, he has failed to give further details regarding the release date for the arrival and the name of the project but anyway, fans are just eagerly awaiting.

Meanwhile, Davido recently unveiled the music video for “Kante,” featuring the talented singer Fave, signaling the culmination of his “Timeless” era. This track, a standout from his Grammy-nominated album released in March 2023, marks yet another milestone in Davido’s illustrious career.

With four albums under his belt – including “Omo Baba Olowo” (2012), “A Good Time” (2019), “A Better Time” (2020), and the aforementioned “Timeless” album – Davido has cemented his status as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Alongside these albums, he has also delighted fans with a string of captivating EPs.

As Davido prepares to embark on the next chapter of his musical journey, the world eagerly awaits what promises to be a defining moment in his illustrious career.
