A second judge ruled on Wednesday that the accused sex trafficker Sean “Diddy” Combs will not be released on bail. This wa after the legal team for the American rap star has filed for his pre-trial release citing “horrific” jail conditions, but their appeal was rejected.

This comes just a day after the rapper who was arrested on Monday was denied bail during Tuesday’s court session. The ruling determined that Combs should remain detained while awaiting trial.

Federal prosecutors charged Diddy with three felony counts, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and using transportation for prostitution, following a grand jury indictment, these charges all come from allegations of years-long sexual abuse of women.

Sean "Diddy" Combs was spotted in Central Park before his arrest.
This happens to be a picture captured from a video which was taken at the Central Park a few hours before the Diddy was taken into custody on Monday.

According to NBC News, Judge Andrew Carter on Wednesday said the bail package the defense offered was “insufficient,” agreeing with the government that there was “no condition that would assure” Combs wouldn’t “obstruct justice” if he were released.

Combs’ legal team suggested major safety measures, including 24-hour surveillance by Sage Security, a company run by former law enforcement officers. Combs would have been regularly observed under this proposal, even if he did not have access to the internet or a phone.

His team also proposed that if released, the rapper would ‘restrict female visitors’ and also added that would restrict all visitors to family, property caretakers, as well as close friends who are not involved in the federal indictment, also it was added that the only females to visit him outside family will be mothers of his children.

Despite these precautions, U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson claimed that Combs’ huge wealth and violent history made him a threat to both the community and the court system. Johnson cited the indictment’s numerous violent episodes, showing Combs as a persistent threat.

According to Johnson, the investigation into the rapper had uncovered a staggering amount of evidence, including “dozens of terabytes of data” and more than 300 grand jury subpoenas.

Additionally, over 100 electronic devices were seized, further bolstering the government’s case against the music mogul.

When the government raided his houses in Miami and Los Angeles, they found three AR-15s with "defaced serial numbers," other firearms, ammunition, and a drum magazine, according to the indictment.

The hearing also addressed a video that was obtained by CNN showing Combs abusing his former girlfriend Cassie. Judge Carter termed the video footage, which was a part of Cassie’s lawsuit against Combs, “quite disturbing.”

In response, Combs’ defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo stated that the event was a part of a “heartbreaking relationship” and claimed that both parties went to rehab thereafter.

The judge questioned the defense’s claim, pointing to the violent character of the footage, despite their attempts to show Combs as a transformed man. Even though Combs’s defense team highlighted his regret, the judge remained unconvinced.

The defense lawyer, Marc Agnifilo after the court session on Wednesday told reports that the fight continues and that “We’re not giving up by a long shot,” he added that “I’m going to do everything that I can to move his case as quickly as possible,”.

He continued that “We’re going to fight this case with all of our might until we don’t have to fight any longer.”

Combs’ legal team also asked the judge if they would consider a transfer from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to a facility in Essex County, New Jersey. The judge asked the defense to file on the question of location by Sept. 23.

The judge set the case’s next status hearing for Oct. 9. The defense would not agree to try the case in October.
