His legal team is seeking his release on bail, arguing that there is insufficient evidence to justify his detention. The appeal also highlights alleged legal errors made during the court’s initial ruling, which denied him bail.

Combs, 54, was arrested last month on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Despite pleading not guilty, he has been held in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Combs’ defense team has proposed a comprehensive bail package, including GPS monitoring, home detention, and round-the-clock security provided by former law enforcement officers. His lawyers claim that these measures would ensure that he would not obstruct justice or tamper with witnesses.

Prosecutors, however, remain concerned that Combs might use his wealth and resources to evade the law. They pointed to his access to private jets and substantial financial assets, suggesting that he could be a flight risk. In response, Combs has offered up to $50 million as bond, including his $48 million Miami mansion and his mother’s home as collateral.

In a bid to ease concerns, Combs informed the court that he had sold his private jet and agreed to wear a GPS monitor, limiting his travel to Miami and New York.

According to the indictment, federal authorities raided Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami earlier this year, uncovering over 1,000 bottles of lubricant, narcotics, and firearms.

The indictment also details a long history of criminal behavior, accusing Combs of orchestrating “Freak Off” parties, which allegedly involved drug-fueled sex gatherings, physical abuse, and coercion.

Prosecutors have described Combs’ actions as part of a larger criminal enterprise, where women and other individuals were forced to comply with his demands under threat of violence. The indictment claims that Combs abused his power for decades, engaging in sex trafficking, forced labor, and witness intimidation.

Combs has denied all the allegations, with his legal team insisting that the prosecution’s claims are “vague and speculative.” They argue that there is no clear evidence linking Combs to the alleged acts of witness tampering or obstruction of justice.

Furthermore, his lawyers assert that the court’s decision to deny him bail was made without proper factual findings or a thorough analysis.

If convicted, Sean “Diddy” Combs could face a minimum of 15 years in prison. The rapper is however scheduled to appear before court on Wednesday, October 9th for his hearing.
