His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, made it clear in a statement that Combs is prepared to fight his case until the very end., Diddy, 54, who is facing multiple charges, insists on his innocence and refuses to back down.

Combs, through his legal team, claims that he is the victim of a “racially motivated prosecution.” According to Agnifilo, his client believes that the charges are part of a broader pattern of targeting successful Black men.

Combs argued that this is an attempt to tarnish his reputation and bring him down because of his prominence in the entertainment industry.

The high-profile case has drawn national attention, especially as Combs prepares to testify. His lawyer has repeatedly said that the rapper is eager to tell his side of the story in court, a move that will put him directly in the spotlight. This comes after Agnifilo told TMZ that the Bad Boy Records founder ‘can’t wait’ to testify in court.

The attorney highlighted that Combs wants to show the world that he’s not just fighting for himself but for others in similar circumstances. This case, according to the legal team, could set a significant precedent for individuals who feel they are being persecuted by the government.

The rapper was indicted in New York City on September 16 and was charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution which he pled not guilty to.

His attorney sought his bail but all attempts to get him out have been denied bail, with the presiding judge agreeing with prosecutors that Combs posed a significant flight risk, if he should be out and even placed on house arrest.

One of the more bizarre aspects of the case involves the discovery of large amounts of baby oil and lubricant at Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles.

Agnifilo attempted to downplay the findings, suggesting that Americans tend to buy in bulk and that there was nothing unusual about the products. He even pointed out that Costco, a well-known bulk retailer, was nearby. However, Costco later issued a statement to TMZ denying that they sell baby oil in their U.S. stores.

As the case unfolds, Combs’ mental state has come under scrutiny. Last week, the rapper was placed on suicide watch after being denied bail.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections, suicide watch involves heightened observation and security measures for inmates who may be at risk of harming themselves. Despite this, Combs remains optimistic, his attorney insists, staying focused on the battle ahead.

Diddy who has been hit with new lawsuits following his arrest is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, for his next hearing.
