Raman is also accused of stealing and destroying Doja Cat’s property, as well as subjecting her to verbal degradation and demeaning behavior, leaving the artist feeling “unsafe and traumatized.”

Sawyer herself alleges physical abuse and threats from Raman, stating that the most recent incident occurred earlier this month.

A judge has reportedly granted court-ordered protection to Sawyer, pending a hearing for a permanent restraining order. This isn’t the first time she has sought such protection, as a previous restraining order against Raman has expired.

To secure legal protection from her brother, Doja Cat will need to file her own documents. In the legal filings, Doja’s mother mentioned that she had previously obtained a restraining order against her son, but it has since lapsed.

The unfolding legal battle sheds light on the darker aspects of Doja Cat’s family life. Born in Los Angeles to Deborah, an American graphic designer of Jewish heritage, and Dumisani Dlamini, a South African performer of Zulu descent, Doja Cat rose to fame as a rapper and singer.

Meanwhile, her brother Raman, known for playing Crocodile in the original Broadway cast of the musical “Sarafina!” and its 1992 film adaptation, now finds himself entangled in a legal dispute that has implications for the entire family.
