In a recent turn of events, Eugene Arhin, the Communications Director at Jubilee House, has refuted reports circulating that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo granted presidential pardons to certain individuals, including Ato Essien.
The reports, which began to spread after a letter allegedly signed by Kow Essuman, the Legal Counsel to the President, was shared, claimed that pardons had been issued to those named.
In an official statement released on January 5, 2025, Arhin vehemently denied the reports, describing them as false and misleading.

“The attention of the Office of the President has been drawn to reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has granted a presidential pardon to certain individuals.

We wish to categorically state that these assertions are inaccurate, and no pardon has been granted by President Akufo-Addo,” the statement read.
