Real Madrid on Thursday officially announced that they had acquired Brazilian sensation Endrick from Palmeiras.

His signing cost Los Blancos a hefty €60 million, of which €35 million will be covered by fixed payments and the other €25 million by performance-based add-ons.

However, Endrick won’t join the club until 2024, when he turns 18.

The teenage sensation committed to Real Madrid for three years which begins from 2024 to 2027 with an option for another three years, effectively tying him to the club until 2030.

Despite Endrick’s youth, Real Madrid decided to spend a lot of money on him. The 19-year-old’s reputation in his native country suggests that the investment may very well be worthwhile.

In fact, Craque Neto, a former Brazil international, asserted that the 16-year-old is so gifted that he has the potential to become a better player than Selecao superstars Romario and Ronaldo.

Speaking in an interview, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, he said: “It’s a pity that we won’t see Endrick a lot here in Brazil. This boy is going to fly. He’s going to be better than Romario and Ronald.”

Neto isn’t the only former player from Brazil to extol Endrick. Former Real Madrid superstar, Ronaldo, recently praised the 16-year-old, saying:

“Endrick is a great talent for the next few years.”

Over the course of his young career at Palmeiras, Endrick has generated a lot of buzz. His performances with the club’s youth team at the Copinha tournament earlier this year catapulted him into the spotlight.

After making a big impression, Endrick quickly achieved first-team success at Palmeiras. Despite just being 16 years old, he has three goals and an assist in seven senior outings.

The enormous potential he has demonstrated will undoubtedly thrill Real Madrid supporters, and they will be eager to watch his progress over the next years as he prepares to join the club at the Santiago Bernabeu.
