A manhunt is underway in the UK for former footballer Leon Jeanne, who is wanted for recall to prison after breaching his conditions.
Jeanne, 44, who had a promising football career with Cardiff City and Queens Park Rangers, has been on the run after being recalled to prison by South Wales Police.
The former football star, who began his career at Arsenal at the age of 10, has had a troubled post-football life.
His football career, once filled with potential, ended abruptly due to a series of personal struggles, including drug and alcohol addiction.
Jeanne’s disciplinary issues began with a two-year suspended ban in 2009 after testing positive for a Class A drug, leading to his release from Cardiff City.
Jeanne’s run-ins with the law escalated in 2015 when he was jailed for 30 months for his involvement in a cocaine supply plot.

Four years later, in 2019, Jeanne was convicted of dangerous driving after being chased by police at speeds of up to 100 mph on the same road where his son tragically passed away.
After breaching a curfew, Jeanne was sent back to prison.
Despite his criminal record, Jeanne continued to be involved in football, playing for several lower league clubs including Brighton & Hove Albion, Afan Lido, Carmarthen Town, and Port Talbot Town.
However, his career came to a halt in 2015 as his personal issues became too overwhelming to continue in the sport.
South Wales Police have urged anyone with information about Jeanne’s whereabouts to come forward.
They have issued a public appeal with the reference number “2500002271” for anyone who can assist in his capture.
Jeanne’s case highlights a tragic fall from grace for a man who once had a promising career in professional football.
