A Florida woman is facing armed robbery charges after allegedly holding up a Dairy Queen at gunpoint, only to make off with a mere $1.50 in change.
Allison Fetting, 44, is accused of attempting a botched robbery at the fast-food restaurant in Coconut Creek, Florida, last year.
According to police, Fetting entered the Dairy Queen on February 2024, showed a handgun to an employee, and demanded money.
However, she was unable to access the restaurant’s cash register, and ultimately managed to grab just $1.50 in loose change from the tip jar. No one was injured during the incident.
Fetting was already in jail on multiple armed robbery and drug possession charges when she was charged in connection with the Dairy Queen robbery last Friday, March 21.
Records from the Florida Department of Corrections show that she had been in custody prior to her transfer to Broward County, where she is now awaiting a court hearing on March 26 for the charges related to the failed robbery attempt.

Police confirmed that Fetting had a criminal history, including a previous three-year prison sentence in 2003 for charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and grand theft.
In a statement, Coconut Creek police described the bizarre robbery attempt, stating that Fetting “walked into the Dairy Queen in Winston Park Plaza” and demanded money.
Despite the gun, the robbery ended with very little gain, drawing attention to the seemingly pointless nature of the crime.
