Kobbie Mainoo is being courted by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to become a Black Star player by converting from England to the national team.

Dr. Randy Abbey, a member of the GFA Executive Council, disclosed this information, stating that the 18-year-old midfielder is under observation by the Association.

“The Ghana Football Association is interested in monitoring, attracting, and persuading all eligible talents for its various national teams,” he told The Times.

“Kobbie is definitely one of such incredible talents, and the Association will love to work with him and many like him at home and abroad

With 12 appearances in the starting lineup so far this season, Mainoo is having a breakout season at Manchester United.

In the Premier League on Thursday, Erik ten Hag’s team upset Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3 thanks to the match-winning performance of the teenager.

The midfielder scored the game’s winning goal in the dying seconds of the match, after Manchester United had let a two-goal lead slip away.

Following the game, Mainoo was showered with adulation from the crowd, and Ten Hag also praised him for his performance.

“I think I saw him very quickly.” When I first saw him in the autumn of last year, I felt that he was playing a little too easily for the Under-21s; he ought to be much more dominant, the Reds manager stated.

“He makes such good progress and is almost progressing from game to game, because we pushed him a lot by that side in training.”

Of course, it’s fantastic to witness, and I hope he maintains his composure as he did in achieving his goal. Ten Hag continued, “He is a good man with determination, and I hope he continues to make progress.
