Amida Brimah, a center from Ghana, has risen to the top of the NBA Gatorade League (G-League) blocked shots category in history.

Three shot attempts were stopped by the former University of Connecticut player during Santa Cruz Warriors’ 102-88 victory over G League Ignite.

In the victory, Brimah contributed 31 minutes as a starter and finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds, two steals, and three blocks.

His total of blocked shots overtook Raphiael Putney’s record of 344 denials; prior to the match versus Ignite, Brimah and Putney were tied at 344.

With 347 blocks under his belt, Amida Brimah is currently the clear leader in the basketball defensive category.

Brimah has played for teams in Europe, most notably in France and Belgium, and has been in and out of the league after stints with the Austin Spurs and Indiana Mad Ants.

The six-foot-ten-inch center, who won the national collegiate basketball championship in his first year at the University of Connecticut, had brief NBA stints with the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers.
