Ghanaian Afrobeat singer and songwriter, Jackline Acheampong, widely known as Gyakie, recently disclosed that her initial career aspiration was entrepreneurship, not music.

 Gyakie pursued studies in International Business at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where her musical journey commenced.

On The Day Show with Berla Mundi, the “Forever” hitmaker shared how her path shifted after meeting her producer, Sosa, on the KNUST campus through a friend.

Despite originally aiming for a business career, Gyakie’s encounter with Sosa led to him sending her a beat, ultimately becoming her debut single on streaming platforms.

 Recognizing her songwriting talent, Gyakie’s track “Never Like This” marked her first release on music streaming platforms.

Since then, Gyakie has achieved success with hits like “Something” and her recent track, “Rent Free,” which is gaining popularity across various social media platforms.
