Forbes, a well-known American business magazine, has revealed its list of the top eleven highest-paid soccer players for 2023. We’re here at Townflex Sports to share these updates with you.
Forbes put together this list by considering how much players make from their salaries, bonuses, money from image rights, licensing deals, other earnings they have off the field, and any businesses they’re involved in.
Forbes released this list on Friday, October 14, 2023. It’s no surprise that Cristiano Ronaldo, a professional soccer player from Portugal, who plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, is at the very top of the list, making a whopping $260 million.
Out of this total, he’s expected to make about $200 million from playing soccer. But there’s more to it; his deal also includes extra money from sponsorship agreements facilitated by the club.
Even though Al Nassr probably got a share of his image rights, Ronaldo still makes a lot of money from endorsements, such as with Nike and Jacob & Co, which adds up to an estimated $60 million each year.
Next on the list is Lionel Andrés Messi, also known as Leo Messi, who is from Argentina. He’s the second-highest earner with $135 million. And in the third spot, we have Neymar, a famous Brazilian player, making $112 million.
There’s also good news for African soccer fans. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, two outstanding African players, have earned their places on this list.
