Lyrical Joe believes he is the best rap performer in Ghana and because of that was honored with the “Best Rap Performance of the Year” prize at the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

LJ made those bold claims in his in an appearance for Citi TV’s entertainment program “The Chat,” where he also talked about his sudden rise to fame and his ongoing “feud” with Amerado, a fellow rapper.

He thinks that his mastery of rap him head and shoulders above all other rappers in the country, making him more than deserving of the honor granted by the VGMA.

To that effect, the hardcore rapper declared to the show’s host, Chris Kata, “I am the best rapper in the nation, and I am ready to represent Ghana on the international stage.”

Background

Lyrical Joe won his first major award for his nine-minute song “5th August 5” at the 23rd edition of the Ghana Music Awards, which were held on May 6 and 7, 2022, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

He did this by defeating Sarkodie, Amerado, Strongman, Obibini, and Teephlow (AICC).
