Jason Derulo sued by singer alleging he demanded sex in exchange for a record deal

American singer and songwriter, Jayson Derulo has been hit with a lawsuit after fellow singer, Emaza Gibson claimed he demanded for $ex in other to bless her with a record deal.

According to the lawsuit filed on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, in a Los Angeles County Superior Court, Gibson claimed that Derulo, 34, dropped her record deal after she rejected his $eslxual anvances, and also repeatedly asking for outings to dine and drink.

Gibson accuses the “Watcha Say” singer of quid pro quo sexual harassment. She added that the “explicit demand for $ex in exchange for success was reinforced” through his “subsequent behavior.”

In addition to the alleged sexual harassment, Gibson claims that Derulo ‘lunged at her’ when she arrived at a recording session in June 2022 to berate her for being late.

The lawsuit alleges that Derulo screamed, ‘I don’t know who you think you are! You’re supposed to be here before me! You need to plan better!’ inches from [Gibson’s] face.”

Gibson also recalled an alleged incident where she accepted an alcoholic beverage from Derulo, feeling compelled to do so due to his position as her boss and her desire to excel in her work.

She claimed that she immediately detected an unusually large amount of alcohol in the drink. According to Gibson, Derulo encouraged her to take another sip, but she declined.

“I’m at this point in my life right now, it’s very heartbreaking,” she said.“I have anxiety; I’m traumatized. I’ve dealt with inhumane work situations. … I’m at this point where I’m back to zero and I have nothing.”

Gibson, who is pursuing compensation for unpaid wages, lost earnings, deferred compensation, and other employment benefits, as well as damages for emotional distress in the lawsuit, discussed the alleged experiences outlined in the lawsuit during an interview with NBC News on Thursday.
