Beyoncé’s big tour, called the Renaissance World Tour, finished up in Kansas City last Sunday. It was a massive success in terms of ticket sales.
This tour made a jaw-dropping $579 million in earnings, making it the most successful tour ever by a Black artist. It was a hit all over the world with 56 sold-out shows in 39 different cities. This is double the record Beyoncé set with her Reformation World Tour in 2016.
The Renaissance World Tour isn’t just a record-breaker; it’s also one of the top-grossing tours ever, ranking at an impressive No. 7 according to Billboard Boxscore. This is remarkable because most of the top spots are usually held by white male acts.
At the very top is Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which earned close to an incredible $940 million from a whopping 330 shows.
Other famous artists like Ed Sheeran, U2, Coldplay, Harry Styles, Guns N’ Roses, and The Rolling Stones are also on the list. They all did more shows than Beyoncé’s tour.
There’s a chance that Beyoncé might extend her tour to South America and Oceania, but there’s no official word on that yet.
In the meantime, for those who missed the live shows, you’ll soon have a chance to see it on the big screen. “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” will be in theaters on December 1, and it’s expected to be a hit with audiences worldwide.
