Buffett was best known for his unique musical style, which blended elements of country, folk, rock, and Caribbean music, creating a genre often referred to as “Gulf and Western” or “Tropical Rock.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1969. He credited early years playing and singing in the streets and bars of New Orleans with shaping his dedication to connecting with his audience and giving the customers a good show.
