John Dumelo Files Criminal Complaint Against Lydia Seyram Alhassan Over Election Malpractice

John Dumelo, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has filed a formal criminal complaint against the sitting MP, Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, accusing her of election malpractice.

In a detailed Facebook post on Monday afternoon, Dumelo revealed that his team had submitted a complaint to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), citing video evidence of several actions by Alhassan that allegedly violate both criminal and electoral laws.

According to Dumelo, these recordings show Ms. Alhassan engaging in practices that could unfairly influence voters ahead of the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2024.

“We believe these actions constitute a breach of our electoral laws,” Dumelo wrote. “My team has provided the OSP with material evidence of a larger plan by Ms. Alhassan to unlawfully influence voters on election day.”
