Actor Kevin Spacey is set to stand trial in the UK this summer after being accused of sexually assaulting four men.

The trial date has been confirmed for June 28th at Southwark Crown Court, following a brief pre-trial hearing that Spacey attended via video-link.

Spacey has denied all 12 charges against him, which range from 2001 to 2013. The trial is expected to last up to four weeks, with the possibility of a further hearing in May. Although he did not appear in person, Spacey was present via video-link and wore a grey suit, light shirt, and burgundy tie.

During the proceedings, Spacey’s barrister, Patrick Gibbs KC, engaged with prosecutor Christine Agnew KC and judge Mr Justice Wall, while Spacey himself confirmed his full name as Kevin Spacey Fowler. It is unknown where Spacey was appearing from, as Gibbs refused to confirm his client’s whereabouts.

In December, the Hollywood star was charged with seven new offenses, including indecent assault, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The alleged offenses took place between 2001 and 2004 and involved sexual touching and forcing a person’s hand against the defendant’s privates over clothing.

Spacey previously pleaded not guilty to three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

He had also denied four charges of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. In total, Spacey now faces 12 allegations of sexual assault in the UK.

Despite the charges, Spacey’s acting career has been illustrious. He became a prominent figure in the 1990s with roles in hit movies such as The Usual Suspects, Se7en, and American Beauty.

He continued to enjoy success on the small screen, portraying US President Frank Underwood in the Netflix series House of Cards. Over the years, Spacey has received numerous awards, including two Oscars, a Bafta, Tony, and Golden Globe, as well as multiple Emmy nominations.

Spacey has been granted unconditional bail while awaiting trial.
