Luton Town secured a valuable point against Nottingham Forest

As both sides fight for Premier League survival, Luton managed to salvage a point at home against Nottingham Forest thanks to an equalizer from Luke Berry in the 89th minute.

When Chris Wood stretched to convert Morgan Gibbs-White’s dink to the back post, he gave Forest the lead.

Reece Burke headed Ross Barkley’s corner towards goal as time was running out, and Berry completed with a twist move from six yards.

In the final minute of additional time, Ryan Yates had a chance to give Forest all three points, but his beautiful effort sailed narrowly wide, leaving Luton in 18th position, one spot below their opponents.

Barkley’s 20-yard attempt, the first of three attempts from outside the box, went just wide of the post as Luton got out to a promising start, but by the time Forest scored, they were ahead.

Two attempts by Divock Origi had been turned away; the second came only minutes before Neco Williams found Gibbs-White, who crossed the ball for Wood to score.

Teden Mengi did have the ball in the Luton goal before halftime, but his celebration was cut short when it rolled off his arm instead of going in.

After the break, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team had more opportunities, as Issa Kabore hooked a ball off Anthony Elanga’s line.

But Luton held the score at one and applied more pressure in the last minutes, albeit they produced nothing noteworthy until Berry’s goal, which maintains the Hatters in close proximity to the teams above.
