A man has found himself at the center of criticism after being accused of “manspreading” on a plane, leading to discomfort for fellow passengers. The 26-year-old man, who describes himself as “tall,” shared his experience of a six-hour flight where he was seated between two women.
The incident occurred aboard a Spirit Airlines flight, which, according to the man, offered even less legroom than usual. On Reddit, the man explained that he often experiences knee pain from being in the same position for extended periods, especially on flights.
He said, “I usually try to take a walk around the airport before flights to stretch my legs, but neglected to this time.”

As the flight progressed, the man found himself gradually pushing his knee into the shared space between the seats, seeking relief from the cramped conditions. “About half an hour after takeoff, I found my left knee inching to the side for the sweet relief of open space, specifically, the no-man’s-land in between seats,” he wrote.
Although he acknowledged that his knee might have encroached on the neighboring seat, the situation was uneventful for the first two hours.
However, tensions rose when one of the women in her 20s called over a flight attendant, complaining that the man was invading her space. She reportedly told the attendant, “Could you tell him to keep his ****ing leg in his own ****ing seat?” Realizing the complaint was directed at him, the man quickly withdrew his leg, feeling embarrassed.

The woman reportedly made a comment referring to “his enormous ****,” which the man interpreted as a snide remark about the idea that “spreading your legs is about male genital comfort.” Unfortunately, the flight attendant did not fully understand the woman’s request, leaving the situation unresolved for a while.
After the attendant left, the man attempted to apologize but was ignored by the woman. He later shared his frustration on Reddit, stating, “I kept replaying it in my head, wondering why she didn’t simply ask me to move my knee instead of calling over the attendant.”
One commenter responded, “The window lady called the attendant for her protection, but also to shame you into compliance, and rightly so, you should be ashamed of your behavior. It sucks to be in your position, due to airline passenger abuse, but you are knowingly doing so without improving your situation either, then imposing onto those women.”
