Kevin Ray Underwood was executed by lethal injection on December 19, 2024, for the 2006 murder of 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Underwood, who had been on death row since his conviction in 2008, killed Jamie as part of a shocking cannibalistic fantasy.
The crime occurred on April 12, 2006, when Underwood lured the young girl into his apartment. He attacked her with a cutting board, then suffocated and sexually assaulted her.
After the murder, he concealed her body in a plastic bag in his closet. Authorities grew suspicious of Underwood after a routine checkpoint, leading them to search his home, where they found Jamie’s body.

Underwood confessed to the crime, explaining that he had intended to behead Jamie and consume her, though he later abandoned that plan.
His actions were motivated by a deeply disturbing cannibalistic fantasy.
Despite defense arguments that Underwood had endured a traumatic childhood and suffered from mental health issues such as bipolar disorder, prosecutors pointed out that many people face similar struggles without resorting to murder.
In a final statement during a clemency hearing, Underwood expressed remorse, apologizing to Jamie’s family and everyone affected by the crime.
However, his request for clemency was denied, and he was executed at 10:14 a.m.
