Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order against Canadian artist Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a ten-year prison sentence for assaulting her in 2020.
The order comes just a month after Megan’s legal team informed the court about Lanez’s continued harassment from behind bars.
In an emotional testimony before a Los Angeles courtroom, Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, detailed how the traumatic shooting still impacts her daily life.
Lanez fired five bullets from a semiautomatic weapon during an altercation, injuring both of Megan’s feet.
She explained that the pain from the physical wounds is compounded by ongoing harassment, much of which has been encouraged by Lanez himself, even from prison.

Megan, who won three Grammy Awards, tearfully shared, “I haven’t been at peace since I been shot, and I’m just trying to be un-harassed, not only by the person who shot me, but by the people he’s been paying to continue to harass me.”
She spoke about the lasting emotional toll the incident has taken on her, explaining that she often feels anxious and socially isolated due to the online attacks.
“I feel like when he gets out of jail, it’s going to be worse. I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time, I won’t make it,” she added, revealing her fear of future retaliation.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Richard Bloom, who presided over the case, agreed with Megan’s testimony, stating that the impact of Lanez’s violent actions continues to affect her significantly.
The restraining order mandates that Lanez stay at least 100 yards away from Megan and refrain from any form of harassment, intimidation, or threats until at least January 9, 2030.
