Mother Charged with Murder After Drowning Daughter Over Diabetes Dispute

A Florida mother has been arrested and charged after allegedly drowning her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover, following an argument over the teen’s refusal to take her diabetes medication.

The tragic incident occurred in Kissimmee on November 20, 2024, when police responded to a report of an “armed disturbance” at the home.

Upon arrival, officers found Giselle unresponsive and she was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Authorities say the conflict stemmed from a dispute between Kelsey Michelle Glover, 33, and her daughter, who had Type 1 diabetes.

According to reports, Kelsey had stopped administering insulin to Giselle, which caused her daughter to become severely ill.

This prompted an argument between Kelsey and her roommate, who told investigators that Kelsey had locked Giselle in a room and blasted loud music to cover up her daughter’s cries for help.

The situation escalated when Kelsey allegedly placed Giselle in the bathtub, grabbed her by the hair, and held her head underwater.

When the roommate attempted to intervene, Kelsey reportedly attacked them with a hammer. Authorities later confirmed that Giselle’s cause of death was drowning, and her death was ruled a homicide.

Giselle’s father, DJ, expressed his heartbreak in a GoFundMe post, where he reflected on his daughter’s intelligence and strength, noting how she never let her diabetes define her.

“You turned it into something that inspired us all,” he wrote. “There’s so much I’ll never get to do with you… but I hold tight to the memories we did make.”

Kelsey Glover was arrested and is facing charges in connection with her daughter’s death. The case is ongoing, with authorities continuing to investigate the details surrounding the incident.
