Thibaut Courtois suffer new Knee Injury

Thibaut Courtois, the keeper for Real Madrid, had to leave Tuesday’s training session in tears due to a new knee injury.

After breaking his ACL in the summer, Courtois has not played for Real Madrid this season. However, he has been working with the squad recently and is anticipated to play again during the international break in March.

However, he sustained a fresh knee injury while training, severely hurting his chances of playing this season.

“After the tests carried out today on our player Thibaut Courtois, he has been diagnosed with a torn internal meniscus in his right knee,” the statement stated. “The injury happened during the workout that was held today. Evolution is still underway.

Crucially, Courtois’s injury is not to the same knee that he hurt during the preseason.

According to reports, Courtois was sent for scans almost away, and they soon discovered that the goalie had not sustained an injury as serious as his ACL, but he is still anticipated to be out for at least six weeks.

The finale of La Liga is currently set for May 26, so Courtois would be able to return in early May after missing six weeks. However, if the custodian needs surgery, his time on the sidelines may be prolonged.

Andriy Lunin has performed admirably this season in Courtois’ stead. The Ukrainian international is anticipated to receive a new deal after edging out loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga for the starting position this year.

Following Courtois’s initial injury last summer, Kepa was brought in from Chelsea and quickly replaced the Belgian in the starting lineup. However, a small injury allowed Lunin to enter the team, and Lunin’s outstanding play has put an end to rumours that Madrid might buy Kepa.
